Legal Associate - Remote

Overview

The foundation is seeking a Legal Associate to assist the General Counsel in providing critical legal guidance across various initiatives, including the grants program, governance processes, and marketing efforts.

In Short

• Handle a portfolio of grants, contracts, marketing materials, and other collateral documents.
• Anticipate and address legal, business, and regulatory challenges within the DeFi space.
• Review external communications for compliance with foundation objectives.
• Provide risk-based legal, regulatory, and strategic advice to the General Counsel.
• Review and structure grant agreements for the grant programs.
• Monitor communications and deliverables from grantees for compliance.
• Assist the General Counsel in executing the foundation's legal and policy strategy.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; member of a U.S. state bar.
• 2–5 years of legal practice experience with a focus on corporate law and contract law.
• Understanding of 501(c)4 organization structure.
• Familiarity with U.S. financial regulatory frameworks as they apply to DeFi.
• Experience advising on web3 and crypto matters.
• Understanding of protocol mechanics and governance structure.
• Impeccable attention to detail and commitment to advancing decentralized finance.
• Innate curiosity.
