Overview

The Insurance Follow-Up Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate resolution of outstanding insurance claims, focusing on Blue Cross Blue Shield accounts and supporting the overall revenue cycle.

In Short

  • Conduct detailed analysis and follow-up on outstanding insurance claims
  • Research and resolve claim denials and underpayments
  • Prepare and submit claim documentation to payers
  • Respond to payer and patient inquiries
  • Utilize payer portals and patient accounting systems
  • Identify trends in denials to improve processes
  • Maintain accurate records of account activity
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills
  • Prioritize and organize daily workload effectively

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience with insurance claims and medical billing
  • Understanding of insurance terminology and remittance advice
  • EPIC experience preferred
  • Certificates or Medicare certification are a plus
