Design Assistant - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Design Assistant to support residential remodeling projects from concept through execution. This role works closely with designers, clients, and vendors to ensure projects are well documented, visually compelling, and operationally organized.

In Short

• Assist with cabinet design software and draft floor plans
• Prepare 3D renderings and visual presentations for client meetings
• Support layout planning and space utilization
• Contribute creative ideas to improve design quality and presentation
• Obtain quotes for cabinetry, countertops, tile, plumbing, flooring, and other materials
• Begin and update bid calculations, including square footage and material specifications
• Create, maintain, and update project job books
• Order project materials and track deliveries
• Maintain clear communication with designers, vendors, and clients
• Support a collaborative, team-oriented work environment

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through
• Basic proficiency with 2020 Design or willingness to learn quickly
• Good visual and spatial awareness for layouts and design support
• Familiarity with cabinetry, finishes, and residential remodeling processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
• Experience with Buildertrend or similar construction/project management software
• Prior experience supporting interior designers, remodelers, or construction teams
• Familiarity with material sourcing and vendor coordination
