Security Engineer - Remote

Overview

As a Security Engineer at Remo, you will help build secure systems, detect threats proactively, and guide teams through secure development practices in a mission-driven environment focused on dementia care.

In Short

• Continuously monitor infrastructure and application for threats.
• Own and evolve security architecture across cloud platforms.
• Review and secure infrastructure changes against compliance benchmarks.
• Develop response playbooks and lead incident response efforts.
• Run internal red-team exercises and simulate attacks.
• Perform continuous penetration testing and active scanning.
• Integrate security tooling into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate on secure coding standards and threat modeling.
• Maintain compliance documentation and conduct audits.
• Work nights and weekends during security incidents.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering.
• Strong knowledge of modern DevSecOps principles.
• Experience securing applications in healthcare and HIPAA compliance.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks like SOC2 and NIST.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, GCP, AWS, and cloud security.
• Experience with SIEM platforms and threat detection.
• Familiarity with offensive security and penetration testing.
• Strong product-layer security mindset for web applications.
• Experience with SAST, IAST, SCA tools integration.
• Ability to design and monitor CI/CD security pipelines.
