Senior Software Engineer - Product Security - Remote

Overview

The Red Hat Product Security team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you will work as part of a team responsible for the development and maintenance of applications that generate, maintain and process vulnerability metadata for our customers and 3rd party scanning vendors.

In Short

• Design and develop an engine to process vulnerability metadata.
• Integrate tooling with various internal systems.
• Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Advise stakeholders on process-related inquiries.
• Continuously improve software delivery processes.
• Work with a team of ~10 developers.
• Focus on backend-heavy applications mostly written in Python.
• Collaborate with team members to align on a common vision.
• Be comfortable with learning new technologies.
• Solve challenging data problems.

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of Python (5+ years).
• Intermediate experience with relational databases (3+ years).
• Intermediate experience with Linux system administration (3+ years).
• Interest in the container ecosystem.
• Good understanding of system architecture.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with tools like Django, Celery, JavaScript/HTML/CSS is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, OpenShift, GitLab CI is a plus.
