Overview

The Oregon Youth Authority is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Senior Accountant to lead key accounting and financial reporting functions that support our mission to transform Oregon’s youth.

In Short

  • Lead the fiscal year-end accounting and reporting processes.
  • Oversee the work of professional accounting staff.
  • Prepare and analyze the agency’s financial reports.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and Oregon Accounting Manual.
  • Coordinate the design and enhancement of accounting systems.
  • Provide expert guidance in accounting practices.
  • Manage cash flow processes.
  • Apply an equity lens in financial operations.
  • Work in a hybrid telework environment.

Requirements

  • Possession of a CPA or CGFM certificate.
  • Three years of accounting experience equivalent to Accountant 2 work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Experience in designing and modifying accounting systems.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data.
  • Experience with government financial reporting.
  • Ability to interpret and apply accounting regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in SFMA.
  • Demonstrated experience in equity practices.
