Overview

As an Opto-Mechanical Engineer in our Aerospace sector, you will design and develop robust mechanics for high performance optical systems in challenging environments.

In Short

• Design and develop opto-mechanical assemblies and sub-systems for aerospace and optical applications.
• Create detailed drawings and instructions for prototypes and production.
• Perform risk and tolerance analysis and subsystem FMEA’s.
• Manage technical documentation including CAD drawings and simulations.
• Collaborate with program managers and customers on technical requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage multiple projects.
• Prepare presentations for customer design reviews.
• Work independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team.
• Engage in the entire project lifecycle from concept to alignment.
• Contribute to innovative aerospace projects including NASA missions.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 6-15 years of experience in opto-mechanical design.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAE software, preferably Solidworks.
• Experience with optical raytracing software is a plus.
• Knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5M.
• Experience with optical alignment techniques and drawing creation.
• Must be a US Person (U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident).
