Opto-Mechanical Engineer I - Remote

Overview

As an opto-mechanical engineer, you will design and develop robust mechanics for high performance optical systems in challenging environments, working as part of a team of creative cross-disciplinary engineers.

In Short

• Design and develop opto-mechanical assemblies and sub-systems.
• Build prototypes and create detailed drawings for production.
• Perform risk and tolerance analysis.
• Drive mechanical design elements with tolerance budgets.
• Responsible for technical documentation including CAD drawings and simulations.
• Collaborate with program managers and customers on technical requirements.
• Work independently and with a multi-disciplined team.
• Involved in the entire project lifecycle from concept to alignment.
• Must be a US Person (U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident).
• Experience with high performance optical systems is preferred.

Requirements

• BS and/or MS in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• 0-1 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Experience with CAD/CAE software, preferably Solidworks.
• Familiarity with finite element analysis techniques.
• Understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5M.
• Knowledge in mechanical design for precision assemblies.
• Experience in thermal management solutions.
