Senior Kubernetes and Golang Engineer - Remote

Overview

As a Senior Platform Engineer at PulsePoint, you will help future-proof our existing Kubernetes-based platform by enhancing its functionality and reliability.

In Short

• Collect and analyze requirements from various teams to enhance the Kubernetes platform.
• Implement missing functionalities in open-source tools used in the Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Set up CICD pipelines for regression testing and releasing new versions.
• Integrate customizations upstream with community interest.
• Test new versions of platform components and prepare for zero downtime upgrades.
• Identify areas for improvement and potential replacements for current components.
• Automate cluster diagnostics and issue recovery.
• Assist development teams in setting up their CICD pipelines.
• Work flexibly with overlapping hours until 1 or 2 PM EST.
• Contribute to open-source projects related to Kubernetes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience running Kubernetes in production.
• 2+ years of experience in Golang development.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes APIs and concepts.
• Familiarity with GitOps principles and tools like Argo CD or Flux.
• Experience with Kubernetes client libraries and test-driven development in Golang.
• Ability to customize open-source tools and contribute to projects.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus.
• Experience in configuring centralized log aggregation.
• Ability to work under pressure and resolve production issues.
• Knowledge of running workloads in cloud environments (GCP or AWS) is a plus.
