Senior Data Scientist - Remote

Overview

Prosper is seeking a Sr. Data Scientist for the Data Science team under our Credit Risk Analytics vertical. You will become a core contributor with machine learning expertise on the credit risk team and deliver results that directly impact our business.

In Short

• Build industry-leading machine learning models for managing credit and fraud risks
• Leverage multiple complex data sources to optimize approve/decline and credit line assignment decisions
• Collaborate with engineers to deploy models into a production environment
• Propose and execute solutions to various problems within business constraints
• Use responsible AI techniques following regulatory requirements
• Help develop tools and workflow solutions to increase data science productivity
• Actively monitor the credit risk models in production
• Extract value out of data to impact key business metrics
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis related to risk management and operations

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in fintech, finance, or high impact fields
• Advanced degree (M.S./PhD) in statistics, computer science, or related field
• Expert knowledge in Python and SQL
• Solid understanding of coding best practices and model documentation
• Strong communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to think within regulatory guidelines
• Self-motivated and results-oriented
