Medical Records Specialist - Remote

Overview

As a Medical Records Specialist at PHM, you will work closely with the Medical Records team collecting, processing, and maintaining medical records for client cases, ensuring effective communication with physicians’ offices and hospitals.

In Short

• Work directly with doctors/facilities via phone on assigned case tasks.
• Create thorough case folders by collecting, separating, labeling, and uploading records.
• Collect images on disc and electronically from doctors/facilities.
• Coordinate and oversee the collection and administration of medical records.
• Think creatively to prevent and mitigate case delays.
• Compile and maintain medical records efficiently.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate cases.
• Develop relationships with medical record facilities.
• Navigate technology solutions effectively.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance throughout the process.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a medical records setting.
• Strong adaptability in a rapidly evolving environment.
• Self-starter mindset, proactive and comfortable working independently.
• High technological fluency and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and attention to detail.
