Overview

The Medical Records Specialist I (MRS I) is responsible for maintaining, organizing, and managing patient health information in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

• Collect, organize, and maintain medical records.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of medical records.
• Upload and retrieve records in accordance with policies.
• Enter patient information into the EMR system.
• Safeguard patient information by following HIPAA protocols.
• Regularly audit records for compliance.
• Respond to requests for medical records.
• Assist patients with accessing their medical records.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers for discrepancies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• CCMA or equivalent certification is desirable.
• 1+ years of experience in medical records management.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
