Home Equity Underwriter - Remote

Overview

Point is looking for an experienced Home Equity Underwriter to join our Manila team. In this role, you'll analyze property and financial data to make approval recommendations, send offers to homeowners, and ensure compliance with company guidelines. You'll collaborate with Account Managers, Processors, and Closers to deliver top-tier customer service.

In Short

• Review applications and documentation.
• Request needed documents from homeowners through follow-ups.
• Review the title to ensure the correct lien position.
• Submit finished dockets to QA for review.
• Provide updates to cross-functional teams.
• Effectively manage a pipeline of 60-100 files/dockets.
• Reject dockets that do not meet underwriting guidelines.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in loan underwriting or related fields.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Deep understanding of Fannie Mae lending guidelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort presenting and defending credit decisions.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office or Google Sheets.
• A desire to deliver high-quality customer service.
• Knowledge of common credit underwriting standards is a plus.
• Interest in real estate and fintech.
