Senior Engineer, Transmission & Interconnection (T&I) - Remote

In Short

• Conduct steady state power transmission system analysis on TARA or related software.
• Review interconnection reports published by ISOs and/or utilities.
• Develop and streamline interconnection processes using Python.
• Use engineering judgement to replicate ISO and utility interconnection studies results.
• Responsible for pulling data from the ISOs and producing reports.
• Support interconnection process tasks and communications with utilities.
• Develop interconnection application plant models on PSCAD and PSSE.
• Act as a subject matter expert on interconnection queues and transmission plans.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Participate in site visits and meetings on engineering issues.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience with power system analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Previous experience in an IPP or as an interconnection studies consultant.
• Strong subject matter expertise in organized markets.
• Proficient in utilizing power flow and dynamic simulation software.
• Understanding of electricity market policy and rules.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
• Strong Python coding skills preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
