Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Remote

Overview

The AEC is seeking experienced Infrastructure Engineers to manage and improve system infrastructure, including on-premises server and storage systems, multi-cloud infrastructure, Office 365 applications, and end-user device management.

In Short

• Manage and improve system infrastructure for the Australian Electoral Commission.
• Design, implement and maintain Azure cloud and hybrid solutions.
• Resolve issues and propose infrastructure improvements.
• Optimise Azure and public cloud resource performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Create and maintain documentation including design and as-built configurations.
• Implement and manage security controls in line with PSPF, ISM and Essential 8.
• Work in a hybrid arrangement, preferably in Canberra.
• Contract duration of 12 months with potential for extension.
• Strong knowledge in IT Infrastructure and cyber security principles required.
• Collaboration with geographically dispersed teams and mentoring responsibilities.

Requirements

• Experience in IT Infrastructure Engineer roles.
• Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, PowerShell, and virtualization technologies.
• Ability to manage relationships and work with technical/non-technical staff.
• Understanding of risk management principles in security patching.
• Deep understanding of cyber security principles and frameworks.
• Tertiary qualifications or industry certifications in Computer Science/IT preferred.
• Understanding of ITIL practices is desirable.
• Experience with email security and network infrastructure is a plus.
