Overview

As the Head of R&D at Panoptyc, you will lead the development of innovative AI and computer vision products aimed at revolutionizing loss prevention in retail.

In Short

• Lead and manage a small team of engineers to prototype and productize computer vision and AI systems.
• Build and own early-stage proofs-of-concept, validating in real-world scenarios.
• Define and prioritize the technical R&D roadmap in collaboration with product and business leads.
• Architect scalable systems for production deployment.
• Vet new models and hardware deployments.
• Set technical direction for new product lines.

Requirements

• 8+ years in engineering roles with deep experience in AI, ML, and computer vision.
• Proven track record of building products or technical breakthroughs.
• Strong skills with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and video analytics (e.g., OpenCV).
• Experience leading small engineering teams.
• Creative and resourceful problem-solving skills.
• Experience with data pipelines for video training data.
• Bonus: Experience with edge computing or hardware deployment.
