Principal Software Engineer - Operations Cloud Applications - Remote

Overview

PagerDuty is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our Incident Management team. As a Principal Software Engineer on our Operations Cloud Applications team, you’ll be part of a fast-moving, high-performing, and innovative team, tackling some of the most challenging problems in the company.

In Short

• Lead and drive technical decisions across multiple initiatives.
• Be a coach and mentor to Staff or other senior engineers.
• Architect robust, scalable systems for complex operational landscapes.
• Work collaboratively with product leaders and engineering peers.
• Design, develop, and manage customer-facing SaaS applications.

• Shape the future of PagerDuty’s Operations Cloud Applications.
• Evaluate, anticipate, and mitigate potential risks in high-availability systems.
• Collaborate well with others and have excellent communication skills.

Requirements

• 10+ years as an engineer designing and managing SaaS applications.
• Strong experience in designing and maintaining large systems.
• Expertise in Elixir, JVM, Ruby on Rails, Kafka, React.
• Public cloud engineering on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
