Overview

The Engagement & Organizing Advisor at Oxfam America will support efforts to build and activate members of the Oxfam Action Network through volunteer engagement and advocacy, focusing on issues of inequality and injustice.

In Short

  • Coordinate with various teams for public engagement.
  • Support the recruitment and cultivation of Oxfam supporters.
  • Plan major public-facing events and activations.
  • Design training materials for volunteers.
  • Facilitate online and offline collaboration spaces for volunteers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for a consistent supporter journey.
  • Use digital tools to track engagement and improve volunteer retention.
  • Represent Oxfam in community organizing spaces.
  • Stay current with organizing trends and apply learning to improve outcomes.
  • Commit to equity and inclusion in all organizing efforts.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in community organizing or volunteer coordination.
  • Experience in planning public actions or campaigns.
  • Proficiency in digital engagement tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and writing skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and creativity.
  • Commitment to feminist principles and anti-racist approaches.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
