Progressive Writer Intern - Remote

Overview

The Progressive Writer Intern contributes to ONC’s mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by completing essential tasks in the Core Content Department, focusing on writing political content.

In Short

• Write high-quality OpEds and Policy Proposals.
• Collaborate with a team of writers in a respectful, nonpartisan environment.
• Participate in podcasts, events, and other assignments.
• Ensure diverse content and commitment to nonpartisanship.
• Work remotely using Zoom and Slack.
• Must commit until at least August 30th, 2025.
• Submit a writing sample with application.
• Participate in weekly mandatory meetings.
• Flexible schedule and college credit available.
• This is an unpaid internship.

Requirements

• Degree in Political Science, Journalism, English, or related fields preferred.
• Exceptional writing skills in English.
• Proficient verbal communication skills are a plus.
• Experience in policy research or political commentary preferred.
• Enthusiasm for ONC’s mission and values.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Google Workspace experience preferred.
• Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.
