Overview

Otto Aviation is seeking a dynamic engineer to join our Aircraft Integration Team. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background defining and driving reliability and maintainability processes over the full lifecycle of an aircraft development program.

In Short

  • Be a functioning team member within Otto’s Aircraft Integration Team.
  • Define R&M processes, policies, procedures, and necessary software solutions.
  • Perform reliability analyses using established methods such as FMEA, FTA, LCCA, and Safety Analysis.
  • Conduct regular reviews of AC systems/components to support design for reliability and maintainability.
  • Coordinate directly with system owners to analyze aircraft systems and develop system maintainability metrics.
  • Develop scheduled maintenance tasks and intervals using MSG-3 process/techniques.
  • Give regular presentations showing findings, updates, and R&M inputs.
  • Establish maintenance concepts and support systems framework for life cycle sustainment.
  • Participate in trade studies to influence key aircraft decisions.
  • Ensure data accuracy and up-to-date information.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years aerospace experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of dedicated reliability and maintainability aerospace experience.
  • Familiarity with reliability tools and statistical software (e.g., MATLAB, R, ReliaSoft).
  • Understanding of lifecycle cost analysis and design for maintainability.
  • Experience with Failure Reporting and Corrective Action (FRACA) process.
  • Corrosion Prevention and Control Program (CPCP) knowledge.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of Product Lifecycle Management processes.
