Frontend Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Open Home Foundation is looking for a Frontend Engineer, based in Europe, to join our Ecosystem department. This department is responsible for the development of all the projects except Home Assistant under the OHF umbrella.

In Short

• Conduct code reviews of pull requests from teammates and the community.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and product teams.
• Continuously improve our frontend codebase.
• Engage with the community by addressing user-reported issues.
• 3+ years of professional TypeScript development experience.
• Experience developing and optimizing progressive web applications.
• Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks.
• Ability to work independently with problem-solving skills.
• Professional fluency in English.
• European residency required.

Requirements

• Experience with Lit and/or VueJS is a plus.
• Prior contributions to Home Assistant or other open-source projects.
• Experience developing Home Assistant cards or custom UI components.
• A passionate Home Assistant user or interest in smart home technology.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards.
• Familiarity with frontend testing frameworks.
