Overview

The Senior Payroll Specialist partners with the HR team on the coordination, administration, and communication of payroll related services, systems, and events, ensuring accurate and timely payroll along with exceptional customer service.

In Short

  • Work with HR and Finance to manage payroll services.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state legislation.
  • Maintain and educate staff on timekeeping systems.
  • Audit payroll processes and W-2 reports annually.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with high-level service.
  • Manage garnishments and 401(k) loan repayments.
  • Train and mentor new team members.
  • Support HR in payroll and benefits inquiries.
  • Work remotely with a distraction-free environment.
  • Travel required up to 20% nationally for on-site support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll services experience.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing.
  • Proficiency in Paylocity, Workday, and ClickTime preferred.
  • FPC or CPP Certification preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Self-directed with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop professional relationships.
