Billing Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Billing Specialist is responsible for providing high quality billing services to OCHIN's member clinics, focusing on payor follow-up, denial management, and improving collections.

In Short

• Provide efficient account receivable services to maximize reimbursement.
• Accurately bill Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance.
• Assist with collection of receivables and monitor accounts.
• Post patient payments and correct claim errors.
• Research and resolve credit balances.
• Provide compassionate customer service via phone.
• Maintain accurate billing records and perform registration updates in Epic.
• Establish positive relationships with patients and payers.
• Continuously improve understanding of collection processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; higher education preferred.
• Previous FQHC/RHC experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• EPIC experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of billing and reimbursement processes.
