DevSecOps Network Engineer III - Remote

Overview

NRTC is Member Driven and Technology Focused – providing solutions that help our 1,500 electric and telephone members bring all the advantages of today's evolving technology to rural America. We are looking for a strong network engineer to provide Level III network support, network and system change control, as well as maintenance and management guidance for NRTC member networks.

In Short

• Lead the network team in designing, planning, and implementation of network infrastructure.
• Provide advanced technical support and assist junior members of the team.
• Establish and maintain best practices for the network team.
• Monitor and maintain all levels of network security.
• Design, implement, and support network environments.
• Provide guidance on new technologies and networking best practices.
• Troubleshoot problems reported by customers and internal teams.
• Perform change management activities.
• Stay current on new technologies.
• Provide mentoring to junior staff.

Requirements

• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Expert knowledge of network installation and management.
• Experience debugging bridged/DHCP-based networks.
• Advanced documentation and communication skills.
• Experience configuring Cisco, Juniper, and Unifi/VYOS devices.
• Advanced skills in routing protocols and redundancy protocols.
• Experience with automation tools like Docker and Python.
• Understanding of cloud networking principles.
• Seven years of experience managing network infrastructure.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
