Network Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Network Engineer at NRTC is responsible for ensuring the continuity of service for member networks, working with a team to manage various ISP networks and providing technical support.

In Short

• Manage over 50 ISP networks as a Subject Matter Expert.
• Design and deploy customer L3 core and L2 access networks.
• Provide advanced tier 2 and 3 technical support.
• Advise members on VLAN configuration and IP distribution.
• Monitor and maintain network security.
• Troubleshoot customer-reported problems.
• Perform change management activities.
• Mentor junior staff.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors.
• Study new technology advancements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred.
• Five years of experience in network infrastructure management.
• Cisco CCNA or Juniper JNCIA certification desired.
• Experience with Ciena and Nokia systems.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of network installation and management.
• Experience with debugging bridged/DHCP networks.
• Ability to design and debug Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks.
• Experience configuring L3 VPN tunnels.
• Proactive and detail-oriented approach.
