Head of Digital Transformation & AI - Remote

Overview

We are looking for our Head of Digital Transformation & AI to strengthen our team full-time in 100% home office/remote. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for the digital future of the company, developing and leading the digitization and AI strategy, driving transformative projects company-wide, and establishing innovative technologies for automation, efficiency improvement, and data-driven decision-making.

In Short

• Strategic development and operational implementation of a holistic digitization and AI roadmap.
• Leadership and development of an interdisciplinary team of digital, IT, and AI specialists.
• Analysis of existing processes to identify digitization potential and specific AI use cases.
• Assessment, selection, and implementation of digital and AI-supported systems.
• Management of company-wide digitization and AI projects including time, budget, and resource planning.
• Development and execution of pilot projects and prototypes in AI and automation.
• Promotion of data-driven decision-making through the introduction of analytics and machine learning tools.
• Training and empowering employees in the use of digital and AI-based tools.
• Technology scouting: market observation, evaluation of new digital and AI trends, and building partnerships with startups and technology providers.
• Monitoring & Reporting: defining and tracking relevant KPIs for success control and continuous optimization.

Requirements

• Completed studies in business informatics, digitalization, AI, data science, or a related field, or comparable education with proven relevant experience.
• Experience in leading digitization or AI projects and in the strategic implementation of technological changes in companies, ideally with initial leadership responsibility.
• Solid knowledge of current AI technologies (e.g., GPT, RPA, ML), software architectures, and digital platforms (ERP, CRM, Cloud).
• Experience in developing and implementing digital strategies in SMEs.
• Very good knowledge of agile methods (Scrum, SAFe, OKR) and common tools for project and team management.
• Strong communication and presentation skills at all hierarchy levels.
• Fluent in German and English (spoken and written).
