Underwriting Supervisor - Remote

Overview

The Underwriting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the underwriting team, training and developing Underwriters, handling file escalations, and working with the management team to identify opportunities for process improvement. This position supports the necessary function of the Underwriting Department to ensure the closing of quality loans.

• Manage the underwriting pipeline to ensure it is evenly distributed across the team
• Review procedures to meet guidelines and compliance
• Train new staff and monitor progress
• Answer questions and develop team members according to their goals
• Provide support to the origination team and manage escalated file issues
• Collaborate with management to identify process improvement opportunities
• Motivate team to meet or exceed monthly goals
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Experience with Conventional, Jumbo, and Non-QM programs
• Adaptable problem-solver
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Persistent and deadline-driven
• Motivated by a fast-paced work environment
• Effective communicator
• Able to manage multiple projects
• Proven ability to mentor and train remote team members
• Computer proficiency and MLM experience preferred
