Senior Database Engineer - Remote

Overview

As a Senior Database Engineer, you will build a new Database Engineering (DE) practice. The ideal candidate will have the crucial role of creating and managing a small team DE practice that is responsible for the company’s revenue-generating databases.

In Short

• Lead, hire, and mentor a team of 3 database engineers.
• Provide guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.
• Specify, design, implement and deliver technical solutions.
• Own all database functions and engineering on the revenue technology side.
• Collaborate with the team to design and implement scalable database architectures.
• Document all relevant processes related to database design and performance.
• Lead monitoring and supporting database systems to ensure optimized performance.
• Promote best practices in securely operating and archiving data.
• Oversee the administration and maintenance of database systems.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ Years of experience working as a Database Administrator.
• 5+ Years of experience working with SQL coding.
• 4+ Years of experience working with NoSQL Databases (Couchbase ideal).
• 2+ Years of experience working with AWS, DynamoDB, or Document DB.
• Experience with N1QL queries (Couchbase SQL).
• Experience working with SQL Server.
• Heavy Admin Work.
• Advanced English Level required for this role.
