Senior Database Engineer - Remote

In Short

• Design and develop database software for low-latency systems at scale
• Application schema design/data modeling and implementation
• Advise software development team on best practices for interfacing product with Postgres and other database technologies
• Production performance troubleshooting of queries and data ingestion
• Mentor other software engineers in database engineering and development
• Collaborate with DevOps and Platform teams on database deployment strategies
• Ensure high availability and reliability in production environments
• Develop Python software that interacts with the database

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related technical field
• Minimum of 8 years of database development, design, and software engineering experience
• Excellent SQL and PL/pgSQL programming skills
• Knowledge of scripting and pipelines for database migrations and testing
• Database administration experience
• Experience with data modeling in collaboration with software teams
• Self-starting with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of software configuration management tools such as git
