Bioinformatics Engineer - Remote

Overview

Natera™ is a global leader in cell-free DNA (cfDNA) testing with a focus on women's health, oncology, and organ health. To bolster our oncology products, we are looking for a Bioinformatics Engineer to provide technical expertise and process completion. Through collaboration between the product and development teams, the Bioinformatics Engineer will help complete projects for the array of Oncology bioinformatics pipelines.

In Short

• Collaborate with product teams to provide solutions for bioinformatics pipelines.
• Drive architectural decisions and provide data analysis oversight.
• Develop and improve bioinformatics workflows for oncology products.
• Act as a leader between software engineering and research teams.
• Implement process improvements and establish best practices.
• Work with genomic data and relevant analyses.
• Utilize programming skills in Python and/or Java.
• Leverage cloud computing technologies (AWS or Google).
• Use Linux command-line tools and relational databases (SQL).
• Collaborate in cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biostatistics, or similar field.
• 2-6 years of practical experience in genomic analysis.
• Solid foundation in software development.
• Knowledge of genomics and NGS analyses.
• Experience with scientific programming environments, such as R.
• Experience in agile software development and test-driven development.
• Experience in cancer genomic data analysis is a plus.
• Team player, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
