Rail Construction Management Coordinator - Remote

Overview

Michael Baker International is seeking a Rail Construction Management Coordinator with a specialization in freight rail projects and program management to provide on-site support to our Alexandria, VA office with option for a hybrid work schedule.

In Short

• Support the TRV Program Manager and/or Deputy Program Managers.
• Maintain responsibility for project quality, cost, schedule, and safety.
• Provide inspection and technical advisement for civil, track, and bridge construction activities.
• Review project proposals and assist in contract negotiations.
• Establish work plans for large and complex projects.
• Direct and coordinate project personnel to ensure progress.
• Prepare project reports for management and clients.
• Oversee and mentor junior staff.
• Develop and maintain client relations.
• Occasional local/regional travel required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in construction oversight.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license a plus.
• Familiarity with working in active rail facilities required.
• Proven experience with freight and/or passenger rail clients.
• Proficiency in project safety, scheduling, and cost estimating.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Commitment to delivering projects on time and under budget.
• Ability to manage various levels of staff.
• Coordinate with government regulatory agencies.
