Health Record Coder III - Remote

Overview

This position is responsible for training new staff on systems used for coding, ensuring accurate coding of diagnoses and operative procedures for various purposes, and abstracting and analyzing all discharged and outpatient surgery records.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of coding experience in an acute care facility.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding.
• Experience with DRG assignment.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Understanding of state and federal laws governing medical information.
• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification.
