Overview

The Program Officer, Center for Diplomatic Engagement plays a key role in advancing Meridian’s Open Diplomacy framework by designing and executing high-impact convenings that connect the international diplomatic corps with leaders from business, government, and civil society.

In Short

• Manage the development and execution of programs within the Center for Diplomatic Engagement’s portfolio.
• Serve as a core project manager for MCDE-led convenings and cross-Center events.
• Lead in-person meetings, calls, and correspondence with stakeholders.
• Support the execution of institutional convenings such as the Meridian Summit.
• Draft event materials including session descriptions and speaker bios.
• Identify and prepare speakers and moderators from diverse backgrounds.
• Cultivate and manage guest lists and audience engagement.
• Track and manage event data and outcomes in Salesforce.
• Support business development efforts by contributing to program proposals.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in international relations, political science, or related fields.
• 4–7 years of relevant experience in diplomacy, international affairs, or event production.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven success in stakeholder engagement and event execution.
• Collaborative, team-oriented, and flexible with a proactive approach.
• Deep interest in global affairs and public-private partnerships.
• Strong inter-cultural communication skills and cultural sensitivity.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and Zoom is necessary.
• Experience with Canva is helpful.
