Overview

The Economic Analyst Consultant will provide expert analysis on economic trends affecting Syria and the broader Middle East, supporting Mercy Corps’ programs through data-driven decision-making and analytical outputs.

• Conduct expert analysis on economic trends in Syria.
• Lead production of analytical outputs related to economic shifts.
• Develop risk analysis and mitigation strategies.

• Contribute to CA-SYR workstreams and engage with the Analysis Unit.
• Monitor economic developments and provide targeted insights.
• Design and deliver analytical products focused on Syria's economy.

• Identify knowledge gaps for economic research.
• Engage with stakeholders to present findings.

Requirements

• Excellent written English and Arabic.
• At least 5 years of analytical experience in a relevant field.
• Experience in political science, sociology, or economics.
• Strong quantitative skills and experience with economic data.
• Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred.
• Experience managing research processes and teams.
• Ability to cultivate trust-based relationships with stakeholders.
• Experience producing deliverables in humanitarian contexts.
• Experience managing researchers and coordinating teams.
