Senior Data Scientist - Audit - Remote

Overview

This role is for a Senior Data Scientist who will partner with the Internal Audit team at Mercury to ensure high standards of integrity and regulatory compliance.

• Partner with Audit and stakeholders to design and evaluate analytics for control effectiveness.
• Conduct data validation and QA for audits and regulatory exams.
• Build testing frameworks and metrics dashboards for audit transparency.
• Trace data lineage from source to report.
• Support audit planning with exploratory data analysis.
• Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to enhance data infrastructure.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with large datasets and 1+ years in audit or regulatory functions.
• Fluency in SQL for managing data.
• Deep understanding of data lineage in complex environments.
• Familiarity with audit methodologies.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in evolving environments.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
