Director of Work Design & Innovation - Remote

The Director of Work Design & Innovation leads this evolution, acting as internal strategist, designer, and change catalyst to embed modern, scalable ways of working across the company.

You’ll partner closely with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), People Business Partners, Technology, Risk, and business leaders to identify opportunities, run experiments, roll out AI-enabled workflows, and continuously refine how roles, teams, processes, and knowledge flow.

• Own a cohesive innovation agenda aligned to Mercury’s business strategy.
• Collaborate with ELT and business leaders to spot high-leverage opportunities.
• Design and execute pilots/experiments with clear hypotheses and KPIs.
• Develop scalable change resources to support leaders in adopting new practices.
• Track and communicate impact on key outcomes.
• Champion AI enablement and adoption across the organization.
• Define and scale modern ways of working.
• Drive workflow, role, and organizational design improvements.
• Create a prioritized pipeline for cross-functional process enhancements.
• Build continuous process improvement and automation.

Requirements

• Proven success implementing modern ways of working at scale.
• Hands-on experience with AI/automation for process improvement.
• Track record in organizational design and partnering with senior leaders.
• Strong program/change management skills.
• Exceptional communication and facilitation abilities.
• Data/evidence-driven mindset.
• Collaborative and inclusive approach.
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree; MBA or HR certifications preferred.
• 10+ years leading change in complex environments.
