Requirements

  • Associate/Diploma Degree in Nursing or Health Information Technology.
  • 3+ years of experience as an inpatient coder or clinical documentation specialist (if no degree).
  • At least two years of acute care inpatient clinical documentation specialist experience.
  • Preferred certifications: RN License, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCDS, CDIP.
  • Experience in Critical Care or inpatient care nursing preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to educate healthcare team members.
  • Experience with databases and presentation software preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently in a collaborative environment.
