Overview

The Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Coordinator is responsible for implementing and managing the CDI quality and compliance plan, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of health record documentation, and providing education and support to Clinical Documentation Specialists.

In Short

  • Implement and manage CDI quality and compliance plans.
  • Perform quality reviews and audits of health record documentation.
  • Develop and provide education for Clinical Documentation Specialists.
  • Assist with denials management and complex case resolution.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on documentation and compliance.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and coding teams to improve documentation.
  • Maintain knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations.
  • Design and deliver effective training programs.
  • Monitor performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support new colleagues through training and onboarding.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Health Information Technology or related field.
  • Current RN license or relevant certifications (RHIA, RHIT, CCS).
  • Minimum three years of experience in clinical documentation integrity.
  • Thorough knowledge of CMS regulations and coding guidelines.
  • Experience with 3M CDI Software and Epic EMR preferred.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Office).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Understanding of the Catholic health ministry values.
