Organizational Change Management Specialist - Remote

Overview

The MBTA is launching a digital transformation initiative that equips frontline employees with streamlined, mobile-first tools for accessing safety-critical resources and contributing remote data from the field. As part of this initiative, the Organizational Change Management Lead (OCM Lead) will ensure that all stakeholders—from supervisors to operators—are aligned, engaged, and equipped to adopt the new technology.

In Short

• Facilitate the change management workstream of the digital initiative.
• Develop and execute a communication plan tailored to specific audiences.
• Act as a liaison between project leadership and field staff.
• Partner with Training and Communications teams to design educational materials.
• Identify and mitigate change-related risks and resistance.
• Measure and report on change readiness and user adoption.
• Collaborate with program management on change management plans.
• Coordinate implementation and internal ambassador programs.
• Develop internal case studies and success stories.
• Perform related duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Five years of experience leading organizational change initiatives.
• Excellence in audience-specific messaging and engagement strategy.
• Experience navigating resistance to change.
• Strong understanding of user experience principles.
• Experience with change frameworks like Prosci ADKAR or Kotter.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and influence without authority.
• High emotional intelligence and active listening skills.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with collaboration tools.
• Experience tracking and analyzing communication metrics.
