Software Engineer I - Cloud Database Engineering - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a Software Engineer I to join one of our Cloud Platform Engineering teams at Marqeta! You’ll be joining the Cloud Database Engineering team, who are responsible for all of the relational databases that power Marqeta’s card issuing platform. You’ll be at the heart of all things Databases: automating the lifecycle of AWS Aurora instances, working closely with application teams to analyze Database performance and innovating in building Marqeta’s next-generation, highly available and resilient Database solutions.

The Cloud Database Engineering team operates at the center of everything Marqeta does, and there is endless opportunity to make a sizable impact across your team and the whole business.

We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remotely within the Toronto Metro and Vancouver Metro area in Canada. We’d love for you to join us!

• Design, develop, and deliver high quality products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree. In lieu of a degree, 2+ years of relevant experience may suffice.
• Experience developing in Java, however we welcome experience in other programming languages.
• Experience with cloud computing. We use AWS, but welcome other cloud experience.
• The ability to demonstrate humility, empathy, and to take constructive feedback positively.
