Engineering Manager - Core Edge Processing - Remote

Overview

As an Engineering Manager in Core Edge Processing, you will oversee, develop, and scale the team which runs our cardholder facing real-time serving stack. You will coach the team, provide technical constraints, give performance related evaluative feedback and participate in the design and building of the next generation cloud first architecture.

In Short

• Develop a vision, strategy, and roadmap to meet business objectives with existing or emerging technologies with other stakeholders and partners
• Work with team members and partners on analyzing technical and business problems in the core payments edge platform
• Join forces with others on implementations, all the way to production deployment and execution
• Demonstrate strong leadership and build a customer-centric team
• Advocate and practice engineering principles including Security/Privacy, Quality, Reliability, Usability, Scalability/Performance
• Define success metrics and service level objectives
• Monitor & operate production services ensuring user experience
• Contribute to building Marqeta’s technology brand

Requirements

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills
• 5-7 years of software engineering experience
• 2+ years of leadership experience in an engineering role
• Strong understanding of secure software development life cycle and agile methodologies
• Exemplary critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Proven experience in managing and delivering large-scale projects
