The Commercial Credit Lead plays a vital role in assessing and managing credit risk for commercial clients at M&T Bank. This client facing position involves analyzing financial statements, structuring credit solutions, negotiating legal documents, and obtaining credit approval while ensuring compliance with credit policies and regulatory requirements.

• Facilitate the credit needs of customers by underwriting new requests and modifications.
• Manage ongoing credit risk of existing loan portfolios through continuous credit monitoring.
• Review all pertinent credit and financial information for analysis.
• Analyze financial information and complete credit analyses for commercial transactions.
• Prepare financial models and cash flow analyses.
• Attend client calls to understand their business for effective analysis.

• Lead and train junior Analysts and Associates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7 years of experience in complex credit underwriting or financial analysis.
• Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling.
• Ability to negotiate legal documentation and structure transactions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
