The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for driving census growth and referral development across all markets while ensuring Luminary Hospice is recognized as the provider of choice in every community.

In Short

  • Collaborate with the Chief Growth Officer to design and implement sales strategies.
  • Translate organizational objectives into actionable field sales plans.
  • Monitor performance against targets and identify trends.
  • Oversee Hospice Care Consultants and ensure consistent execution of sales strategies.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to enhance referral development skills.
  • Build relationships with key referral sources including physicians and hospitals.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on messaging.
  • Provide timely reporting on sales performance and referral trends.
  • Contribute to the development of growth forecasts and market expansion strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in hospice.
  • Proven ability to lead field-based sales teams to exceed targets.
  • Strong knowledge of hospice referral networks and healthcare regulations.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to translate metrics into actionable strategies.
