Senior Database Administrator - Remote

Overview

This role involves providing senior-level database support for various databases within the Mass Markets DBA team at Lumen, focusing on Oracle and cloud architecture.

In Short

• Provide very senior-level DBA support to Mass Markets databases.
• Deep knowledge of Oracle and cloud architecture is a must.
• Participate in tier3 on-call support rotation for databases.
• Tune complex database problems with high volumes.
• Excellent automation skills are required.
• Guide junior and mid-level DBAs.
• Work well in a large DBA team with an offshore model.
• Spend time with application teams to help tune code.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of experience managing cloud databases.
• 8+ years of experience with very large databases (100TB+).
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata.
• Knowledge of Oracle RAC and ASM.
• Experience with Data Guard, OEM, Toad, AWR, RMAN.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Vertica, NoSQL, or Hadoop is a plus.
• Ability to train team members in database technologies.
