Overview

The role of a Business Development Consultant in the Defined Contribution (DC) team focuses on developing strategies for profitable DC pensions business, enhancing intermediary relationships, and pursuing direct prospects to meet growth targets.

In Short

  • Support the development of DC pensions business strategies.
  • Strengthen intermediary relationships and develop direct prospects.
  • Work with Senior Business Development Directors on key relationships.
  • Research the DC market to identify opportunities.
  • Manage internal relationships to tailor proposals for prospects.
  • Understand legislation impacts on DC market propositions.
  • Ensure customer fairness principles are upheld in all activities.
  • Develop new relationships with small Employee Benefits Consultants.
  • Lead direct to market opportunities with employers.
  • Differentiate DC propositions in the intermediated market.

Requirements

  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
  • DC Pensions and investment fund knowledge (desirable).
  • High standard of written English.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Strong research and reference skills.
  • Understanding of the DC Pensions marketplace.
