Senior Reinsurance Actuary - Remote

Overview

Ledger is a Y Combinator-backed Insurtech startup transforming how insurance risk is financed. We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Reinsurance Actuary to lead and innovate collateralized casualty treaty reinsurance pricing.

In Short

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement innovative capital solutions.
• Evaluate and price collateralized casualty treaty reinsurance and retrocession deals.
• Document pricing assumptions and maintain consistency in pricing strategies.
• Mentor and develop actuarial talent within the team.
• Lead efforts to enhance pricing tools and methodologies.
• Engage with clients and investors to provide technical expertise.
• Support new product development in the Casualty ILS market.
• Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to streamline processes.
• Manage concurrent projects with a strong attention to detail.
• Present new concepts to Casualty ILS investors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
• 15+ years of actuarial experience, with at least 10 years in reinsurance pricing.
• ACAS (Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society) required.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including VBA programming.
• Proven experience in leading actuarial teams.
• Strong organizational skills and project management abilities.
• Exceptional communication skills with senior executives.
