Overview

The Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Specialist serves as a leader in clinical pharmacy practice, providing comprehensive medication management services and utilizing advanced clinical skills for optimal patient outcomes.

  • Serves as a leader in clinical pharmacy practice.
  • Provides comprehensive clinical and distributive medication management services.
  • Engages in the development of clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Monitors patients and evaluates drug therapy outcomes.
  • Coordinates continuing education activities for staff.
  • Precepts pharmacy residents and students.
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Doctoral preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related work experience required.
  • Must obtain relevant certifications within 18 months of hire.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required; Doctoral degree preferred.
  • Registration as a Massachusetts Pharmacist required.
  • 1-3 years of related work experience required.
  • Completion of PGY1 accredited pharmacy residency or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of insurance and adjudication processes.
  • Experience with computer systems, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of complex/chronic disease states preferred.
  • Ability to make decisions guided by precedents and policies.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to provide high-level customer service.
