Data Engineer (NLP-Focused) - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a Data Engineer (NLP-Focused) to build and optimize the data pipelines that fuel our Ukrainian LLM and Kyivstar’s NLP initiatives. In this role, you will design robust ETL/ELT processes to collect, process, and manage large-scale text and metadata, enabling our data scientists and ML engineers to develop cutting-edge language models.

In Short

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for large volumes of text data.
• Implement web scraping and data collection services for linguistic data.
• Process NLP-specific data, including cleaning and normalization of text.
• Set up and manage cloud-based data infrastructure.
• Automate data processing workflows using tools like Apache Airflow.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and NLP Engineers on data features.
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring.
• Manage data security and compliance.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms for data storage and processing.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with NLP projects and linguistic data.
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with data quality assurance practices.
• Ability to collaborate with data scientists.
• Good communication skills.
