Senior API Operations Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Senior API Operations Engineer will design, develop, and maintain microservices that power Kong Konnect, contributing to the success of our customers and Kong's service connectivity platform.

In Short

• Implement and maintain services that power Kong's cloud-hosted control plane.
• Contribute to Kong's Cloud and Enterprise services.
• Design and implement solutions to moderate complexity technical problems.
• Support services in production through an on-call rotation.
• Write automated tests to ensure code behavior and avoid regressions.
• Mentor team members.
• Perform additional tasks as required by the manager.

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science.
• 5+ years of experience in developing complex software solutions.
• Expertise in Go programming language and large scale Go codebases.
• Experience with microservices architectures and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability for code performance.
• Experience with object storage (S3) and streaming systems (Kafka).
• Expertise in API design and lifecycle management.
• Experience with SaaS platforms and containerization.
• Familiarity with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong skills in test-driven development and automated testing.
