Vice President, Finance - Controller - Remote

Overview

The KIPP Foundation is hiring a Vice President, Finance, Controller who will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and integrity of the KIPP Foundation’s financial and reporting systems.

In Short

• Lead and manage daily accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
• Oversee a team of 9 finance professionals.
• Develop and maintain effective financial policies and procedures.
• Prepare financial reports for key stakeholders.
• Support KIPP regions in maintaining strong financial operations.
• Provide guidance on financial best practices across the KIPP Network.
• Manage the annual audit process.
• Foster a culture of excellence and accountability within the finance team.
• Promote organizational compliance with financial policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; CPA or MBA preferred.
• 10 years of equivalent experience in finance or accounting.
• Expertise in nonprofit accounting systems and fund accounting.
• Strong management skills, including people and project management.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to KIPP’s mission and values.
• Excellent communication and change management skills.
• Proficient in financial reporting and compliance.
• Ability to coach and develop finance professionals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
